This monumental Murano glass vase is a definitive example of postmodern Italian glass design. Designed by the visionary Carlo Nason for V. Nason & C., this piece originates from the celebrated Fiapi series.
The vase is a masterclass in the incalmo technique—a difficult process where two distinct glass bodies are fused together while hot to create a seamless, sharp transition of color. The vibrant, translucent red body is dramatically bisected by a deep obsidian-black band, following the vase's asymmetrical, undulating form. Its architectural presence and organic, biomorphic curves make it a sophisticated statement piece for a minimalist or mid-century modern interior.
Provenance & Authentication:
This example is exceptionally rare as it remains a complete set. The vase is signed "Nason" on the base and retains its original manufacturer's label. Critically, it is accompanied by its original factory box and purchase invoices, providing impeccable provenance for the serious collector.
