The vase is a masterclass in the incalmo technique—a difficult process where two distinct glass bodies are fused together while hot to create a seamless, sharp transition of color. The vibrant, translucent red body is dramatically bisected by a deep obsidian-black band, following the vase's asymmetrical, undulating form.
