This set of four armchairs is built on the curule form also known as Savonarola. The frames are wrought iron, substantial and well-made, with the kind of hand-forged quality you can see in the joinery and the spherical finials that cap each post. The seat and back are thick black leather, saddle-stitched and beautifully broken in — firm yet supple where it matters, structured where it counts. The patina on both the iron and the leather is the real thing. Not distressed for effect, but genuinely aged — which is exactly what makes them interesting.
