Few chairs carry this much history and still feel completely at home in any interior. These armchairs are built on the curule form also known as Savonarola. The frames are wrought iron, substantial and well-made, with the kind of hand-forged quality you can see in the joinery and the spherical finials that cap each post. The seat and back are thick black leather, saddle-stitched and beautifully broken in — firm yet supple where it matters, structured where it counts. The patina on both the iron and the leather is the real thing. Not distressed for effect, but genuinely aged — which is exactly what makes them interesting.
