He is known … Read more Kesler (Kes) Woodward is a distinguished Alaskan artist and a long time leader in the arts community. He is known for his colorful renditions of Alaskan landscapes and detailed close ups of birch trees. His works are displayed in major museums and in many corporate and private collections. In 2004 he won the first Alaska Governors Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts. In 2012 he received the Distinguished Artist Award through the Rasmuson Foundation. Current works are sold throughout the country in notable galleries such as the Stremmel Gallery in Reno, Nevada. In 2005, one of Woodward's birch paintings titled Light in the Forest was sold at Coeur d'Alene Art Auction with a realized price of $10, 640.
