Large Empire period floor mirror, first quarter of the 19th century, with a rectangular frame of solid wood stained dark burgundy mahogany.
The upper pediment is adorned with a finely chased gilt bronze lion's head. The entire perimeter of the frame is punctuated by gilt bronze rosettes placed at regular intervals. The mirror, of monumental size (total height: 248 cm, weight: 80 kg), shows slight foxing and wear to the silvering, characteristic of antique glass. The reverse reveals a construction of rough-hewn wooden planks assembled into a panel, reinforced by cross braces, demonstrating traditional 19th-century joinery. A few scratches are visible on the frame; the overall structure is well preserved. The patina and wear are consistent with the age of the piece.
