Osvaldo borsani t69 dining table for tecno, italy, 1960s – original round fumé glass top, 120 cm i
conic and sculptural, the t69 dining table by osvaldo borsani for tecno stands as a masterclass in italian mid-century design.
designed in the 1960s in collaboration with eugenio gerli, this model is celebrated for its architectural base—formed by two intersecting, curved cast-aluminium elements that create a dynamic yet perfectly balanced structure. The silhouette, both light and powerful, reflects borsani’s fascination with engineering precision and visual elegance.
this example is particularly desirable, featuring its original round fumé (smoked) glass top, which enhances the graphic quality of the base while adding depth and refinement. The contrast between the darkened glass and the sculptural metal structure creates a timeless and sophisticated presence, equally suited to residential interiors or high-end office settings.
a true design icon, the t69 embodies the innovative spirit that defined italian design in the post-war period—where advanced materials, such as cast aluminium and glass, were used to achieve both technical and aesthetic breakthroughs.
elegant, rare in this configuration, and highly collectible.
