HENRY J. BILLINGS (Massachusetts/Georgia/Maine, B. 1894), Motif #1, Rockport, Massachusetts., Oil On Canvas, 25" X 30". Framed 28.5" X 33.5".
Billings was a member of the Art Students League of the New York. He later became member of the Art Colony of Woodstock. He moved to Maine where he gained notoriety by painting New England landscapes. His use of brash colors and stark contrasts made him win numerous art contests including the New York Art Fair in 1956.
