19th Century French Zuber Wallpaper Panels.
Offered is a rare group of 4 French Zuber Paris handblocked wallpaper panels mounted on masonite from the late 19th century. Each panel is approximately 84" H and 24" W. This stunning wallpaper was painstakingly removed from a home in Atlanta in the 1960's and mounted on masonite panels. The pattern is named Les Vues du Bresil (Views of Brazil) or Views Of Rio de Janiero.
These lovely panels are ready for hanging as panels, a headboard or could be hinged together to create a screen or room divider.
The subject and color palette is stunning!
The Zuber wallpaper panel featuring Rio de Janeiro is known as Les Vues du Brésil (Views of Brazil). First produced in 1829, this scenic panoramic wallpaper was designed by Jean-Julien Deltil and is still printed by Zuber using the original woodblocks. It often features lush, exotic tropical scenes, including landscapes of Rio.
