​The Story:
True restoration isn’t just about fixing what is broken; it is about revealing a hidden soul. The "Memento Mori" collection was born from a desire to bridge the gap between the warmth of heritage craftsmanship and the sharp, mysterious edge of modern noir.
​This vintage French Provincial dresser was chosen for its classic, sweeping curves and its stunning natural grain. To create a tactile experience, I hand-wire brushed the four wooden accent panels, stripping back the years to expose a deep, pronounced wood grain. This process gives the wood an "aged and weathered" edge that bites through the finish, creating a rugged contrast against the smooth, classy black satin casing.
​The Hidden Detail:
Inside, the piece holds a secret. The hand-applied gold skull and moth motif serves as a private reminder to the owner: beauty is fleeting, and the objects we live with should stir our spirit every time they are touched. This is more than furniture; it is a statement of dark artistry and a tribute to things that refuse to be forgotten.
