Vintage late 20th century abstract expressionist landscape painting by Linda Kolar (d. 2020). Wonderful dimensional pastel colors are layered to depict an abstract interpretation of a scenice mountain and valley. Recently framed in giltwood Italian frame.
Linda M. Kolar, a Midwesterner based in New Jersey, is an oil painter known for her portraits and landscapes, whose training included study at the Art Students’ League of New York under notable instructors such as Patricia Sherwood, Robert Beverly Hale, Jack Faragasso, and Ted Seth Jacobs. Her work has been exhibited widely in regional and New Jersey art shows, including the Ridgewood Art Institute, Somerset Art Association, the American Artists’ Professional League, and the Salmagundi Club, where her painting Ringwood Manor appeared in the A.A.P.L.’s 2002 Grand National Exhibit.
