Offering a exceptional 18th-century hand-forged wrought iron fat lamp of rare form. Unlike the typical single-spout crusie lamp, this example features a four-wick "star" configuration designed for maximum illumination. The central reservoir is expertly pinched at four corners to create wick channels. It remains complete with its original hand-forged twisted iron chain, swivel link, and heavy-duty hanging hook.
The iron shows a deep, authentic chocolate-brown patina with expected pitting and "orange peel" texture consistent with 250+ years of age. This lamp was a vital tool in an early colonial home or workshop, burning tallow, lard, or scrap kitchen grease.
