This double-bulb gourd vessel is defined by a hand-sculpted, three-strand "Corda" (braided rope) belt that provides a rugged, tactile anchor to the silhouette. The piece is finished in a high-texture volcanic "lava" glaze in a deep verdigris teal, serving as a moody backdrop for the heavy, third-fire metallic gold lustre. This molten overglaze was poured with deliberate weight, pooling over the rim and braided relief to create a frozen, liquid-metal effect that feels both ancient and avant-garde.

The volcanic verdigris texture is well-preserved throughout the body, with the heavy gold lustre maintaining a brilliant, high-shine finish and age-appropriate micro-crazing. The base retains its original textured turquoise finish, showing areas of the natural orange earthenware beneath where the glaze has thinned. A partial silver ink signature remains on the underside, including a visible painter's mark "P," though the majority of the original export marking has naturally peeled away over time. less
