The globular, sterling silver stopper is chased and embossed with poppy flowers. It is stamped Theodore B Starr, New York, NY.

Theodore B. Starr was a company of silversmiths founded in New York in 1862 by Theodore Starr. He was joined by Herman Marcus in 1864, forming Starr and Marcus. Marcus departed in 1877 to join Tiffany’s, and Starr reclaimed control, renaming the company Theodore B. Starr. It was acquired in 1918 by Reed and Barton. See less
