The case is beautifully veneered in kingwood with striking geometric parquetry arranged in chevron and panel formations, framed by delicate crossbanding and inlaid reserves.

The serpentine front is fitted with three drawers over two, each adorned with gilt bronze pulls and escutcheons, retaining a warm, time-softened patina. Subtle shaping to the drawer fronts and apron adds movement and lightness, further emphasized by the gently cabriole legs.

Of particular note is the breche marble top, richly figured with a mosaic of warm creams, ochres, and soft greys, its shaped edge echoing the contours of the case below. Gilt bronze mounts, including fluted corner mounts with foliate detailing, provide a refined contrast to the warmth of the wood.

The interior of the drawers reveals solid oak secondary wood construction, consistent with 18th-century French cabinetmaking practices.
