Handcrafted in solid oak, the frame has been carefully cleaned and finished with a wax that enhances the natural tone while preserving its aged character. The design is clean and architectural, defined by a straight upholstered back and elegantly outscrolled arms terminating in carved volutes. The seat rail is richly detailed with continuous laurel and floral carving, punctuated by square rosette blocks that align with the fluted, tapered legs below. The fluted arm supports introduce a strong vertical rhythm, balanced by the horizontal movement of the carved apron. Multiple front legs provide proper structural support across the full length, reinforcing the canapé’s grounded and composed presence. The canapé retains its existing upholstery in a soft cream jacquard fabric with a subtle tonal geometric motif. The fabric reads quiet and textural, allowing the carved oak frame to remain the focal point. It shows visible wear including light discoloration, minor spotting, and gentle patina throughout, consistent with age and use. Finished with a continuous line of aged brass nailhead trim following the full contour. Structurally sound and ready for daily use.
