This is fabulous vintage george iii revival dining table by the master cabinet maker william tillman and regency revival swag … Read more This is fabulous vintage george iii revival dining table by the master cabinet maker william tillman and regency revival swag back dining chairs, circa 1980 in date. The table is made of stunning solid flame mahogany with satinwood crossbanded decoration. It is raised on twin "gun barrel" turned columns on quadruple swept square fluted sabre leg bases which are fitted with brass-capped toes and castors. This table was purchased at great expense from the master cabinet maker william tillman, crouch lane, borough green kent in the 1980s. The table has two leaves which can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion. This makes it a versatile dining table which can comfortably seat ten people. Comprising eight side chairs and two armchairs, all featuring an attractive swag back design with 'drop in' seats that have been reupholstered in the finest claret damask. The underside bears labels for william tillman. Provenance: property of baron stanley kalms (1931-2025) the botanical name for the mahogany this item is made of is swietenia macrophylla and this type of mahogany is not subject to cites regulation. Condition: in excellent condition having been beautifully cleaned, polished waxed and the chairs reupholstered in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation.
