Offered for sale is an abstract painting created by Carol Cohen Hamoy (b. 1934) a New York City fiber artist who exhibited works about the people of her city in many museum-sponsored exhibitions for Ellis Island, for the Jewish community, and for the memories of people who had lived in a tenement that became a museum. She honored the history of the immigrant families that came before her.
The painting is created with subtle muted tones in sand-colored tones of brown intermingled with light tones of sea glass green and light ochre.. It is likely gouache and is made on handmade paper. The work is signed in the upper right "Hamoy."
The painting is displayed floating with raw edges in an oak frame.
