A superb 19th-century Chinese porcelain Hu-form vase featuring a rich, deep Sang de Boeuf (Oxblood) glaze. This piece showcases the desirable "Langyao" transition, where the vitreous copper-red glaze thins to a pale, crackled celadon-white at the rim and along the high-relief details of the handles.
Technical Details:
Form: Classic "Hu" shape with a flared rim and pedestal foot.
Handles: Two masterfully applied Chi Long (Dragon) handles, each suspending a fully functional captive loose ring.
Glaze: High-gloss monochrome red with Flambé characteristics; note the "waterline" at the rim and the beautiful "coagulated" depth of color near the base.
Markings: Hand-applied "C" on the base, likely an old estate or private collection inventory mark.
Origin: China (Jingdezhen)
Age: Late Qing Dynasty (c. 1880–1910)
Material: High-fired Porcelain
