Designed by a metal artist in the 1970s, it reflects a compelling fusion of gothic influence and the expressive modernism of the era. Entirely handcrafted, every detail underscores its uniqueness, making this piece a true one-of-a-kind masterpiece. The powerful dragon figure is mounted on a sheet of oxidized copper, whose richly developed patina lends remarkable depth and atmosphere to the composition. The dragon itself is meticulously constructed from brass, copper, and zinc, assembled and finely adorned by hand. The interplay of these metals creates a vivid sense of movement and energy, giving the creature a distinctly mystical presence. Positioned behind the dragon is the light source, shielded by a perforated metal screen in the style of mathieu matégot. This element softly diffuses the light while casting intricate and evocative shadows. The fixture is fitted for an e14 bulb. For use in the american market, an e12 socket reducer is included; it can be discreetly screwed into the existing e14 socket. In this case, it is recommended to attach the reducer directly onto the e12 bulb. The lamp reveals its full magic when illuminated: the shimmering metal surfaces and nuanced oxidation come alive, immediately captivating the viewer. More than just a lighting fixture, this piece is a sculptural statement and a rare collector’s object by an unknown artist, originating from a distinguished private art collection. See less
