During the early 19th century, John and Thomas Seymour were highly recognized for their sophisticated aesthetic designs which were defined by striking wood contrasts, architectural proportions, and delicate inlay work. The architectural top and "turret corners and reeded pilasters carved columns" all noted features of the Seymore School. This design was one of many known as, a classic Boston and northern New England look. See less
