Bring authentic, high-end mid-century craftsmanship and classic 18th-century elegance into your home with this matching pair of Heritage Henredon 3-drawer serpentine chests. Produced in 1954, these versatile pieces have been newly refinished, accentuating the spectacular natural graining and deep glow of premium mahogany.
Inspired by the classic English Georgian and Federal eras, each chest features a beautiful, sweeping serpentine front with dense mahogany wood grain, as well as the original rectangular brass Hepplewhite-style drop-ring pulls (with stamped backplates). Unlike today’s mass-produced furniture, these vintage chests were built with uncompromising Old World quality and solid wood craftsmanship: carved aprons, dovetailed drawers, and built-in dust panels between every drawer to safeguard the interior space.
A marriage of form and function, the pair would be at home in a variety of spaces, serving as bedroom dressers, oversized nightstands, hallway accent chests, or statement living room end tables. Whether flanked beside a high-post bed or anchoring a grand living salon beneath twin mirrors, this matching pair offers timeless proportions and unmatched historic character.

About the maker:
Henredon Furniture was founded in Morganton, North Carolina in 1945. Established by former Drexel Furniture Company executives -- T. Henry Wilson, Ralph Edwards and Don VanNoppen -- the Henredon brand is a portmanteau created from these founders' names.
In the early years, Henredon’s success was based on its ability to produce high-quality furniture at a reasonable cost. The company used innovative manufacturing techniques and materials, such as new types of glues and finishes, to create furniture that was both durable and beautiful. As the company grew during the 1950's and 60's, its product line expanded as did its list of well-known design collaborators (Dorothy Draper and Frank Lloyd Wright among them). "Heritage Henredon" was a collaboration between Henredon and the furniture company Drexel-Heritage that lasted throughout much of the mid 20th century.
Henredon's wide range of offerings gained a reputation for timeless design, quality craftsmanship, and attention to detail that it still retains today. As a result, pieces made by Henredon remain very popular with collectors.
