Rectangular box veneered in burl wood, with marquetry decoration on the lid (brass, ebony, and stained wood).
European work from the late 19th century, Napoleon III period (circa 1870–1890).
The box is made of elm burl veneer, displaying a beautiful warm hue and characteristic mottled grain. The lid is adorned with a central marquetry cartouche of stylized scrolls in stained wood, framed by a geometric border. The corners are highlighted with a slight chamfer, typical of the production of this period.
Good overall condition, some wear and losses, mainly on the interior.
