This model belongs to the early loft series and exemplifies the functional aesthetic of the 1950s and 60s, originally developed for professional use in workshops and studios. This particular version is the classic two-arm variant, model d1240, with its characteristic proportions of one long and one shorter arm segment. The all-metal construction is based on a sophisticated joint system with no visible cables – the current is conducted internally via contacts in the ball joints, a technical detail that remains distinctive to this day. The hemispherical reflector with its surrounding metal ring allows for precise light direction and gives the lamp its striking, almost sculptural appearance. The original jielde – lyon metal plaque on the shade underscores the authenticity of this early example. The heavy base provides stability and completes the overall industrial look.

the white lacquered surface displays an honest patina with age-related wear, preserving its original workshop character and lending this piece a special depth. Inside, the robust, durable construction for which jielde is renowned worldwide is revealed.
