This table was assembled circa 1960 from a wrought iron base of sewing machine and a massive oak top. The sewing machine foot was made circa 1920. It comes from the Singer factory. Once most homes had access to electricity, the sewing machines found in the majority of households fell into disuse. Some of these machines have found a new use, as is the case with this console. The solid oak top still shows its saw marks, in the brutalist style. This table will be perfect in an entry or in a part of a room as a console with character. Good condition. See less
