Active in São Paulo during the postwar period, Scapinelli developed a recognizable language defined by rhythmic structure, lightness, and a refined balance between form and function. This table reflects that mature vocabulary, translating architectural logic into a domestic scale.

The composition is defined by a long, rectilinear top that appears lightly suspended above a secondary shelf. Four tapering, toothpick legs anchor the form, while the visual character of the piece is articulated through the connecting supports between the top and the shelf. Each connection is formed by a trio of slender, curved elements, repeated symmetrically along the length of the table. This structural cadence introduces both movement and tension, a signature device within Scapinelli’s broader body of work.

Crafted entirely from caviúna hardwood, the table demonstrates a high level of material integrity. The wood’s warm tone and expressive grain are revealed through a carefully executed finish, while the inset glass top introduces contrast and allows the underlying structure to remain visible. Construction is precise and restrained, with joinery serving both structural and visual roles.
