Crafted in solid oak, the chairs feature boldly carved frames with pronounced os de mouton (sheep bone) legs and sculptural, undulating stretchers to all sides - a hallmark of the Louis XIII tradition. The arms are deeply carved and expressive, giving the chairs a grounded, almost monolithic character while maintaining balanced proportions. The frames show hand-shaped character throughout, with visible pegged joinery and a rich, naturally aged patina that highlights the depth and movement of the wood grain. Recently restored and newly upholstered in a dusty blue and white sateen stripe, the fabric carries a subtle sheen that contrasts beautifully with the darker oak. The upholstery is crisply tailored, finished with bias-cut piping that adds a refined, custom detail while softening the linearity of the stripe. Solid, stable, and ready for use.
