Magnificent polychrome carved wooden sculpture representing Saint Michael the Archangel standing over a defeated Satan with anthropomorphic features. This masterfully carved 18th century wooden figure reflects the true Baroque tradition. Over the centuries it has developed a beautiful surface patina. Most of the original paint remains with visible traces of gilding. Very good antique condition consistent with age and devotional use.
