RARE Collectible from 1956
Lucien Chaffois was a 20th-century French artist whose work was associated with the prestigious Galerie Paul Pétridès in Paris during the mid-1950s. Chaffois had a solo exhibition at Galerie Paul Pétridès in 1956. The gallery, located at 53 Rue La Boétie, was a significant venue in the Paris art scene, known for representing major figures like Maurice Utrillo and Tsuguharu Foujita.
While specific details on his stylistic movement are sparse, his work is often categorized alongside Impressionist and Modern drawings.
He was also a collector or previous owner of works by major modernists, such as Juan Gris, indicating he was well-integrated into the mid-century European art market.
