A spectacular, custom-crafted Queen Anne-style highboy chest featuring exceptional tiger (curly) maple wood grain throughout. Signed and dated 'Finish By Joseph F. Bachut, 6-14-05', this piece beautifully captures the elegance of 18th-century early American design with the reliable construction of a 21st-century studio build.
The chest features a classic two-part form, resting on graceful cabriole legs with pad feet and a beautifully scalloped lower apron. The bottom center drawer showcases a finely carved sunburst motif, complemented by traditional batwing brass hardware across its nine drawers. Half-blind dovetails and solid wood backing. The vibrant, glowing amber finish highlights the dramatic chatoyancy (shimmer) of the curly maple. An incredible, heirloom-quality focal piece for a traditional, transitional, or Colonial Revival home.
