Handcrafted in solid oak, the chairs feature shaped upholstered backs, cabriole legs, carved shell crests, and finely detailed floral cartouches with deeply worked serpentine aprons and scrolled feet. The frames display a warm, naturally aged patina with visible oak grain throughout, adding depth and character. The carving is crisp and well defined, giving the chairs a strong sense of movement while maintaining balanced, elegant proportions across the full set. The chairs retain their vintage tapestry upholstery, woven in a muted blue-green ground with pastoral and folk-inspired motifs including florals, baskets, animals, and architectural elements. The pattern carries a classic French decorative rhythm - layered, intricate, and highly textural - and is finished with antique brass nailhead trim outlining both the seat and back. The oak frames have been carefully cleaned and finished with a wax polish to enhance the natural tone while preserving their aged character. Solid, stable, and ready for daily use.
