This armoire was created in the Regence period by the best Lyonnais ebenistes. A piece of this quality would have been commissioned only for the richest and most important noble families. There must have been Knights in the family due to the rare, helmeted soldiers we see along its flanks.
Well-carved with burl walnut door panels that give the armoire its unique color scheme.
