Oriental Ivory Conway Pattern Aesthetic Movement Transferware Plate for your consideration. The plate measures approx. 9 3/8 inches in diameter. Hand-colored transfer print; Aesthetic Movement design. Diamond maritime scene with four hand-fans; three of which have tied decorative ribbons on the handle. Each fan has a different designed theme: birds, butterfly and flower, cosmic patterned design and a river scene. Further floral decoration around the scenes with a purple luster border. The back of the plate has multiple marks including a Registry Mark dating the plate to December 6th, 1880. There is an impressed "C" inside of a triangle mark and a handwritten "y32" mark. Two transfer marks include a star inside of a circle that reads, "CONWAY" and "P.B.&S". The other transfer mark has an oriental man with umbrella that reads, "ORIENTAL IVORY P.B.&S.". Overall, good antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age. Tight hairline extends approx. 1 1/4 inches from rim. Light crazing, soiling, age stains, etc... See photos. Displays lovely!
