The canister measures approx. 10 1/4 inches tall, 8 1/8 inches wide and 8 1/4 inches deep. American, Late 19th Century. S. A. Ilsley & Co. New York. Tin-litho decorated Spanish Mexico theme with hombres and mules carrying loads of cargo. Floral design with winged griffin motifs. Tin-litho checkerboard pattern on sides and back of canister. Bronze knob-handle opens hinged compartment door to access the inside. Good antique condition. Shows wear commensurate with age and use. Condition issues include but are not limited to: soiling, small areas of litho imagery loss, minimal rusting, fading, scratching, minor dents and dings, etc... Shabby chic! See photos.
