Description
An exceptional monumental studio pottery covered vessel by acclaimed California ceramic artists Jon and Barbara Mehr.
This impressive hand-thrown vessel showcases the Mehrs’ distinctive aesthetic, combining warm matte terracotta with expressive cobalt blue flowing glaze. The dramatic organic brushwork wraps around the generous rounded form, while the sculptural fitted lid completes the piece with elegant simplicity.
According to the original artist brochure accompanying this vessel, the Mehrs created hand-thrown, high-fired ceramics in Oak Run, Shasta County, California, drawing inspiration from world travel and the natural beauty surrounding their mountain studio. Their work blends traditional ceramic techniques with a contemporary artistic vision.
The vessel possesses remarkable sculptural presence and works beautifully as a standalone centerpiece, whether displayed in a modern, Southwest, organic contemporary, or Japanese-inspired interior.
Included with the vessel is the original informational brochure from the artists.
