Rare Pair — Art Deco Streamline Moderne Club Armchairs by JAZ —
After Donald Deskey Royalchrome
An exceptional pair of Streamline Moderne club armchairs by JAZ, crafted as a faithful homage to the iconic Donald Deskey Royalchrome designs of the 1930s. Bold sweeping curved arms with layered horizontal chrome accent bands and generous deep seating.
The rounded silhouette and speed-line detailing are directly inspired by the legendary Royalchrome chairs produced by Royal Metal Manufacturing Company to Donald Deskey's designs, circa 1935.
Solid chrome-plated steel tube framing with genuine cream/ivory upholstery, faithful to the proportions and design language of the Deskey originals.
The Royalchrome originals regularly command five-figure prices at Heritage Auctions, Wright, and Christie's.
Used condition consistent with approximately 25-30 years of age. Chrome retains good luster. Leather shows honest wear.
