This is an antique, flame-mahogany, Regency-style, rotating, flip-top, game table, seated on top of a beautifully carved pedestal. On the splayed legs are stunning brass claws with feathered feet, and it rolls nicely on its original brass casters. Also, there is a hidden drawer, to store cards and game pieces. Circa 1810-1820.
Its style was influenced by Greek and Roman aesthetics; an elegant table, such as this, would have only been found in an affluent home.

The top opens and rotates … moreThis is a very sturdy piece and it rolls beautifully on its original, brass casters. The top opens and rotates smoothly, producing a flat and level playing surface. The splayed legs are mounted securely with metal banding. There is small, corner chip of wood that is missing, but when the table is open, it does not show; also, a tiny piece of trim edging (1.5”) that is missing, but that can be replaced (see pictures). If repairs have been made in the past, they must have been done professionally, as this is a stunning piece for being over 200 years old! less
