It features reeded raised door panels … Read more A spectacular early 19th century secretary desk made in Sweden in the Gustavian style. It features reeded raised door panels with a matching reeded front paper drawer. There is a detailed interior with 13 drawers and a center cupboard with door. The top has very ornate triple step down molding with two fixed shelves on the interior.The base has three overlapping drawers with edge molding in addition to the paper drawer and terminates in thumb nail base molding and bracket feet. Both the desk lid and the cupboard top retain their original locks with working keys. Writing height when the lid is open is a perfect 29.5” It is made predominantly of oak with pine secondary wood. It was found near Gothenburg. See less
