Crafted from solid wood and retaining its original painted surface, this piece features a beautifully timeworn green finish with extensive natural distressing and hand-etched markings that read almost like accidental folk art.

The upper section is sitting in the base ( not screwed) traditionally used for sorting mail, receipts, or correspondence—giving the piece its strong mercantile character. The slant-front opens to a worn writing surface, deeply patinated from years of daily use.

Below, three generous drawers provide substantial storage, each fitted with simple metal pulls that complement the utilitarian aesthetic. The interior of the drawers still retains early paper lining, adding another layer of authenticity and charm.
