Irving Davis (often identified as Irving Lucius Davis, 1874–1947) was a California-based artist known for his impressionistic oil paintings of coastal landscapes, particularly around Monterey Bay and the Northern California coast. His seascapes typically feature crashing surf, rocky shorelines, and atmospheric lighting characteristic of the California Plein Air movement. Davis specialized in landscapes, often portraying mountains, coastlines and other scenic views.
Although Davis may not be widely known in contemporary popular culture, his contributions to early 20th century American landscape painting make him a noteworthy figure for collectors of American art.
