A sculptural brutalist studio-pottery table lamp by Swedish ceramic master Rolf Palm (1930–2018), produced at his Mölle studio in southern Sweden, circa 1960s. The hand-thrown stoneware base takes a generous bulbous form, hand-pulled at the neck and finished in a layered glaze of warm earth-brown over slate-gray, with deeper iron-blue runs gathering at the shoulder. The lower body is hand-modeled with raised, brutalist spike-and-dot reliefs — a tactile, sculptural surface that catches light beautifully when the lamp is illuminated.
The base is incised "Palm" — Rolf Palm's hallmark signature from his Mölle studio years. Palm trained at Höganäs Keramik before establishing his own atelier, and his work is held in the collection of the Swedish National Museum. This studded variant is among his more sought-after lamp forms. The body also retains its original period "Stengods" paper label — the Swedish term for stoneware — confirming the ceramic body classification and adding a layer of vintage authenticity.
A confident, collectible piece of Scandinavian studio pottery — equally at home on a writing desk, bedside table, console or library shelf.
