The slender tapering frame is accented with delicate carved floral garlands running down each side, finishing in elegant scrolled acanthus feet at the base.
The narrow, tall, tapering form is the classic "trumeau" or "pier mirror" shape — designed to fit between two windows or along a narrow wall. Ideal for a powder room, entryway, between bookcases, or above a console table where a vertical accent is needed.
Frame is carved wood and gesso composition with a warm antique gilt finish that has developed a lovely mellow patina over the years.
Condition notes (please review photos carefully): Frame shows visible age-related cracks to the gesso/composition at the crown, particularly around the ribbon bow, oval cartouche, and acanthus scrolls. The lower left scroll shows evidence of a prior repair (visible adhesive). Gilt finish shows minor losses and natural wear at edges and high points consistent with age. Mirror plate is in good clean condition. Sold as-is with these noted imperfections, which add character to the piece but should be considered before purchase. See less
