Collectible vintage lithographed tin tray featuring a classic “Varga Girl” illustration by Alberto Vargas. This piece reproduces the “September 1941” artwork originally created for Esquire magazine.
While the original artwork dates to 1941, this tray is a 1987 licensed vintage reproduction. The tray has a glossy black face with a red rim and a full-color pin-up illustration at center. The reverse includes printed biographical text about Alberto Vargas and is marked for The Heirloom Tradition, a division of Hamilton Gifts.
These late-1980s Vargas trays were part of a collectible series featuring Esquire calendar artwork and are popular with pin-up art collectors, vintage barware enthusiasts, and mid-century modern decor collectors.

CONDITION
Very good vintage condition. This 1987 lithographed tin tray presents beautifully with minimal cosmetic wear consistent with age. The vibrant front graphic and reverse text are crisp and bright. The red rim shows minor paint loss and a small chip at the bottom left corner. A faint gray scuff is present near the leg of the illustration (see photos). The piece is structurally sound, sits flat, and the reverse side features a clean, legible biography of the artist, Alberto Vargas. Overall a striking, decorative piece of pin-up history, perfect for display on a bar cart or as a biographical display piece.
