Vintage equestrian print after Georges Pierre Marie Van den Bos, depicting his known composition “Charity,” also referred to as “Philanthropy.” The sentimental Victorian genre scene shows a woman seated side-saddle on horseback offering charity to a mother and children below.
Rendered in soft sepia tones, the image has a classic old-world atmosphere with strong equestrian, Victorian, and dark academia appeal. The subject matter gives the piece a narrative quality, while the aged presentation adds to its collected, found-state character.
The print is housed in a dark ebonized wood frame with glass. The frame shows attractive age-related wear, including rubbed edges and worn areas that reveal warm wood tones beneath the dark finish.
A moody and decorative piece ideal for a study, library, gallery wall, traditional interior, or equestrian-inspired space.
