The tabletop consists of earthy walnut hemmed in by a racetrack of olive ash burl. The original finish on this particular model was dark enough to almost completely hide the rich, golden color of the border, along with its striking grain patterns. We chose a natural finish to highlight the contrast between the two types of wood.

The dining surface sits atop a pair of solid brass faux bamboo legs, blending mid century modern with a touch of Chinoiserie, a theme that appeared frequently in Mastercraft's designs. With the two included leaves it expands from 72 inches to a generous 112 inches, accommodating 10 guests with ease.

This collectible piece of American mid century design is in excellent refinished condition.

This table is unmarked. The design is widely attributed to Mastercraft. The materials (burl, brass), build (very heavy for its size), and style (MCM + chinoiserie) are consistent with other pieces from Mastercraft from this time.

The table comes with a set of custom-cut protective pads purchased by the original owners in 1974. See less
