Handsome pair of lacquered wood floor lamps featuring a dramatic dark scarlet Japanned finish decorated with gilt Chinoiserie style foliate motifs. The lamps have turned wood columns mounted to stepped square plinth bases. The lacquered ground is embellished with gilt vines, flowers, and fruit baskets in the asian aesthetic. Beautifully crafted with solid joinery and construction. The lacquer finish has an intentionally distressed patina to mimic age with minor cracks, and chips as seen in photos. The painted wood has a subtle gloss finish. Sold as a pair.
