Traditionally used in wineries to drain bottles upside down after cleaning, the oak top is composed of thick slats pierced with rows of circular openings, forming a bold geometric pattern rich in texture and history.
The top is encased in a riveted iron frame, adding a strong industrial contrast to the warm wood. It rests on a substantial hand-forged wrought iron base with a hammered finish, featuring elegant scrolled legs and a central stretcher with decorative curls and a finial detail. A thick later glass top has been added, creating a smooth and practical surface while allowing full visibility of the sculptural rack beneath.
The table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with a beautifully aged patina across both the oak and iron elements. Solid and exceptionally heavy at over 200 pounds, it offers impressive stability and presence.
With its generous near-square form, the table comfortably functions as a breakfast or dining table for four to six, and also lends itself beautifully as a game table or centerpiece in a wine cellar.
