Retrieved from Shanxi Province in Northern China, this exceptional 16th century cabinet is a rare find crafted from solid elm using traditional tenon and mortise joinery. Minimal restoration preserves its original beauty—only protective coating applied to prevent wood deterioration, allowing the natural patina, timber highlights, and authentic aging to remain visible. The multi-panel design features 3 functional top drawers and a double-door main compartment with interior shelf, all supported by hand-carved scrolling legs.
