This listing is for a gorgeous Japanese woodblock print from the late Edo Period, produced between 1847 and 1852.
This piece is by famed artist, Utagawa Kunisada (aka Toyokuni III) 歌川国貞 (1786-1865).
It is titled "Snow (Yuki)" from the series, "Snow, Moon, and Flowers (Setsugekka no uchi)." The scene depicts courtesans and a young nobleman watching children play in a snow-covered garden.
Translation
月花之内 (Tsuki hana no uchi): Within [the series] Snow, Moon, and Flowers
雪 (Yuki): Snow
香蝶楼 (Kochoro): Kochoro [a signature name used by Kunisada]
豊国筆 (Toyokuni hitsu): Drawn by Toyokuni [Kunisada]
This woodblock print comes in a floating frame.
The framed piece measures 16.75 x 12.7 inches and the print itself measures about 9.75 x 13.5 inches
