This vintage steel chest by Norman Bel Geddes captures the industrial elegance of the Art Deco era through its architectural proportions, softened corners, and iconic oversized solid brass pulls.
The silhouette feels especially streamlined and restrained, balancing the utilitarian nature of painted steel with the warmth and weight of solid brass hardware. Rounded edges soften the otherwise structured form, giving the piece a distinctly Machine Age sensibility while still feeling refined and highly functional.
This example still retains its original mirror and hardware, allowing the piece to function equally well as a standalone chest or as a complete vanity-style form depending on the space.
