Circa the 1970’s, this 18k gold vintage Tiffany & Co. ring is a simple, wide cigar band with a central natural blue cabochon sapphire. The sapphire is a saturated dark blue; when closely looped you can see subtle zoning in the stone that is very beautiful. The cabochon is bezel set and is almost a bullet cabochon, as it has a high profile that protrudes out of the band in a simple, minimalistic fashion. The band is narrower at the base, graduating in width where it holds the stone, which gives depth to the band. The ring’s classic cigar-type band offers a beautiful clean line and is an ideal unisex ring.
The sapphire cabochon measures 3.6 x 8 x 6 mm, for a TCW of 1.85 carats. The band is 3/8” at its widest and 1/4” at its narrowest. It weighs 14.1 grams. Marked 750 and Tiffany & Co.
Ring size 9.5; sizable.
