A set of an early and distinguished example of the dining chair, conceived with a high-influence of the ch36 chair by hans j wegner in 1962 by the master of danish modernism, hans j. Wegner. This early production model features a simplified leg structure, notably without the later joint stretchers, reflecting a purer and more restrained interpretation of the design.
crafted in warm, richly grained teakwood, this model embodies the quiet discipline and refined simplicity of its time. Its form is honest and enduring, with every curve shaped in quiet harmony and each joint a testament to traditional cabinetmaking. The gently arched backrest offers both grace and support, while the handwoven paper cord seatprovides a natural texture—light yet resilient—echoing time-honoured scandinavian techniques.
this early edition carries the subtle character that only decades can bestow: a soft patina to the wood and a depth of tone that speaks of careful use and preservation. The original papercord seat remains intact, bearing gentle marks of age and use that attest to its authenticity and long history. For those who prefer a renewed finish, we are pleased to offer professional reweaving in new papercord (£130 per chair).
a timeless addition to any considered interior, where authenticity, craftsmanship, and quiet beauty are valued above all.
